Prerequisites
- Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent
- Minimum 18 years old
- Minimum of 150 logged dives
- Certified as a DSAT Tec Deep diver or qualifying certification from another agency. If qualifying with a certification that is not DSAT Tec Deep then the student must read the entire DSAT Tec Deep manual and complete the knowledge reviews prior to the start of the course.
Description
DSAT Trimix Diver; this course trains technical divers to safely dive beyond the range limits of air, enriched air and oxygen for technical decompression dives, deeper than 50mt/165ft. The course builds upon the training philosophies exhibited by the DSAT Tec Deep and Apprentice Tec courses. This course is designed for experienced technical divers ready to explore the outer edges of deep technical diving using the gas of their choice, trimix, a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and helium. The DSAT Trimix diver course will train you to plan and execute dives safely to a depth of 75mt/245ft within the program, furthering your trimix diving experience will allow you to gradually extend this range. The DSAT Trimix diver course takes approximately 5-7 days depending upon your current certification and costs $1200 all gases and boat trips inclusive, there are strict prerequisites.
Equipment requirements
Students are expected to have the following though we do have equipment for rental by daily rates.
- 2 back-gas regulators
- 2 stage regulators (1 O2 cleaned)
- 2 Depth gauge/timing device or computer
- 3 SPG's (1 O2 clean)
- Back plate/harness
- Wings (redundant) with at least 20kg/44lb lift
- Exposure suit protection (recommended 5mm to 7 mm full length and hood)
- Slates
- Surgical tubing (2 meters/7ft)
- Clips
- 2 line cutters
- Reel with lift bag/SMB
