Rebreathers Rental and Training

Imagine experiencing the underwater world in near total silence, without the sound of bubbles as you exhale on each breath. Imagine being able to get as close as you want to marine life due to the huge reduction in vented gas that typically scares off fish and other sea creatures. Imagine using a piece of equipment that actually hydrates you and keeps you warm during your dive. Imagine only needing a 4 litre tank, the size of a pony bottle, to last you over 140 minutes underwater. Rebreathers can make all of this happen.

At Utila Dive Center you can become a Draeger Dolphin or Ray rebreather diver in a matter of two or three days. Ideal for photographers, videographers, or anyone who wants to try something different, rebreathers are the future of diving. The abundance of whalesharks in the area makes it an ideal place for these units to maximize your experience with these huge creatures.

If it's closed cicuit rebreathers you are looking for then we can also provide sodalime, tanks, stage bottles, nitrox or trimix gas mixes and even units or parts to rent. The north side of utila, a protected marine reserve, provides huge walls and dramatic topography perfect for deep closed circuit diving.
