Description
IANTD Nitrox Diver; This type of diving is for everyone and will train recreational divers of all levels the proper usage of enriched air in order to gain the benefits of diving with higher oxygen percentages. Less fatigue, longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, or more conservative dive plans all are the reasons that many people are making the switch from normal air to Enriched Air Nitrox. During this course you will learn about proper planning for EANx dives, the limits and usages of higher oxygen contents, and proper diving techniques while using nitrox. No special equipment is required for this course and all of your normal diving equipment is suitable for this course.
In order to enroll you need to be at least 15 years of age with parental consent, 18 years without parents, Open Water Diver or the equivalent from a recognized training agency. This course is designed as a 1 day program with 4 hours of classroom theory and dive briefing. At the end of this course a final exam will be given. Two Nitrox dives with a maximum of 40% Nitrox to a depth of max 130 feet/39 meters will be conducted. This course is limited to no decompression diving. The theory sessions are included and include but not limited to Nitrox history, pulmonary and central nervous system oxygen toxicity, physics, dive planning including mixture limits and oxygen exposure tracking.
After completion and certification of this course divers will be issued a certification card as well as being qualified to dive any Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 40% Oxygen within recreational diving limits. Course cost $100 and 1 day in duration. The next step in advanced diver training is Deep Air / Deco Procedures combined with Advanced Nitrox.
