This rating is awarded to experienced dive instructors. Master Instructors have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the PADI system of diver education and are members of the Master Instructor Review Committee, which is called upon from time to time to review changes and standards. Master Instructors need to meet prerequisites to achieve the rating, which can be found in the PADI Instructor manual.

At the Utila Dive Centre (Utila, Honduras, Central America) we run a Master Instructor preparatory program that will help you obtain the experience you need to achieve this rating by auditing and assisting on our PADI IDCs. The Master Instructor rating is a prerequisite for those dive professionals wishing to become PADI Course Directors.

In order to determine how we can best assist you, please write to us and tell us your current certification level, a breakdown of your certifications issued/students taught, if you have staffed any IDCs, and how much time you have available.
