COVID-19 Biosecurity Protocol
We’re ready for you!

After 6 months of preparation and hard work, UDC is ready to welcome you to Utila for a safe, healthy, and responsible experience above and below the surface!

We have been working closely with local authorities and the medical community to ensure we are following an effective biosecurity protocol upon reopening.

Protocol for Guests

Utila is a small community and we have successfully avoided a large outbreak of the virus by being conscious of others. We ask that you please follow the following requests while diving with us to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

  • Wash/Disinfect your hands frequently at any of the multiple cleaning stations throughout the facilities.

  • Wear a mask. We recommend reusable masks to avoid creating additional waste. Masks also available on site.

  • Maintain distance whenever possible.

  • Avoid touching your face

Protocol for Staff

Our staff is committed to providing a safe environment while you’re diving with us and will be following a rigorous protocol to mitigate any risks at the dive center,  in addition to the procedure followed by our guests.

  • Regular temperature checks.

  • Frequent “disinfectant deep-clean” of all surfaces and materials

  • Regulators are rinsed and safely stored in steramine disinfectant

  • Responsible social distancing at and outside of the dive center

  • We have a Biosecurity Risk Management Commitee in place should any emergency arise.

In case of emergency, please contact a member of staff. We have emergency evacuation procedures in place in case of any incidents as well as designated isolation/quarantine areas that are availalbe to limit spread of any possible contagion.

For more information on our Biosecurity Protocol or any other concerns you may have, please contact Executive Manager and Biosecurity Safety Officer, Manny Lagos (manny@utiladivecenter.com).
