PADI 5 STAR CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The PADI 5 Star Career Development Dive Center membership level is awarded on an annual basis to progressive PADI Dive Centers which excel in providing dive consumers with a full range of diver education programs, equipment selection, and experience that actively promotes aquatic environmental awareness.

A PADI 5 Star Career Development Dive Center is active in its community, presenting a professional image consistent with, or better than, the norm of the marketplace. These dive centres embrace the PADI System of diver education and are committed to providing customers with quality products, services and experiences. PADI 5 Star Career Development Dive Centers regularly communicate with customers and consistently offer continuing education programs. In addition to excellent training programs, these dive centers promote both local diving activities and opportunities to keep divers active.

A PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC) is a dive center that not only meets all 5 Star Dive Center standards, but also offers PADI Instructor-level training. A PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC) offers divers programs to fulfill their educational goals from entry-level training up through instructor level certifications.

A PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC) meets all PADI 5 Star IDC requirements and also offers additional professional development training. These dive centers are well established businesses with proven success in training PADI Instructors. Because of the services offered, PADI 5 Star CDCs are places where candidates receive training to prepare them for careers in the dive industry. PADI divers, members, and the dive industry at large all benefit from the PADI 5 Star CDC's commitment to professional development and excellence. A PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC) may also offer graduates of their six week career development program special credentials and recognition materials.

Utila Dive Centre has been a PADI Career Development Center since 2002 and is the most popular and successful CDC in Central America. Not only do we train divers from beginner to Instructor, but we have Instructor level continuing education courses (Specialty Instructor, Master Scuba Diver Trainer, IDC Staff Instructor) and internships that add real value to your training with us. As a training facility, we issue over 2000 recreational certifications per year, which allows us the best opportunity to give our newly trained Instructors real world experience through our MSDT internship program. Whilst other CDCs may offer the certification, we also provide the training and experience to help you succeed long after the course is over.

The PADI National Geographic Dive Center Award is granted on an annual basis to progressive PADI 5 Star Dive Centers and Gold Palm Resorts that excel in providing dive consumers with a full range of National Geographic Diver education programs, equipment selection, and experiences that actively promote the benefits of environmental awareness. 

A PADI National Geographic Dive Center's appearance and customer service performance compares favorably with quality retail or resort businesses in the local area, exceeds the norm for local dive businesses, and is representative of the National Geographic brand.

Divers Alert Network (DAN) Business Members

The 'Divers Alert Network' is an organization dedicated and committed to diver safety and dive research. By becoming a DAN business member and offering several DAN training programs, we give our professionals a higher level of diver education and allow our divers a better peace of mind knowing that in the highly unlikely event of an injury they would receive the best care and attention possible. By becoming DAN business members we further extend our support to research and safety.

Beautiful Oceans Science Instructor Development Centre

Beautiful Oceans is an organization dedicated and committed to environmental conservation and education. They have developed programs that are unique and focus on coral reef ecology and the ecosystems that surround coral reefs. Their courses are designed by marine biologists and are the most credible and valid education in the field of coral reef ecology. At the Utila Dive Centre, we can offer both diver and Instructor level training with Beautiful Oceans courses in 'Coral Reef Architecture & Organisms' and 'Food Web & Ecosystem'. Not only do these courses better educate our divers, but they make every dive on a coral reef more exciting and enjoyable. By becoming a Beautiful Oceans Science Instructor Development Center, we give not only our divers, but also our professionals a higher level of diver education. Becoming a member of Beautiful Oceans further extends our support to environmental conservation and education.
